Side effects and warnings
Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation and stomach pain are most common, and usually ease as the dose settles.
Serious warnings
- Thyroid C-cell tumours: do not use if you or a family member have had medullary thyroid carcinoma, or if you have MEN 2.
- Pancreatitis: stop and call your doctor for severe stomach pain that won't go away.
- Gallbladder problems, kidney problems from dehydration and low blood sugar (with insulin or sulfonylureas) can occur.
